We (Lisa and myself) had the pleasure of attending The Winnies last night, where MC / Hosts Irina from Geek Entertainment TV and Gary from Wine Library TV (part of the wine channel) had videoblogggers give each other awards. It was quite a party, let’s just say that. Highlights are coming in (appropriately) via video. Check out the Winnies video tag stream.

Another vlogger is being purchased today and the stakes keep getting higher. Treehugger, whose TreehuggerTV has been a part of Mefeedia for 15 months now, has been acquired by Discovery Communications for reportedly $10 million. The acquisition means that Discovery will have a strong digital addition to their PlanetGreen network, which includes a TV network launching next year that will focus on eco-friendly living.

TreehuggerTV has been one of my favorite green vlogs. For more Green video, take a look at our Green Channel.

Congrats to the folks over at Treehugger – keep producing and distributing great content!

UPDATE: Yahoo again said today that they plan to add video to Flickr. Om Malik expressed concern as to whether this was a good idea or not. I agree.

Creative sponsorship models are starting to make sense for everyone.

Although big business is ready to cash in on the Web 2.0 video craze, both content creators and advertisers have made it clear that they are waiting for a new approach — one that reaches beyond the constraints of pre-roll or banner ads.

Only those new revenue models able to serve the needs of all interested parties: the audience, the videobloggers, the video hosting sites, and, of course, the advertisers, are likely to survive.

So we’re going to focus on a few of different brand new ad models that have just launched, or are launching this week.

This page will provide an index for posts on these creative sponsorship models.

We’ve noticed a lot of green programming coming out of the Sundance Channel lately, so I’ve put together some playlists for all of the different shows (see below for all of them), and we’ll be featuring them here on the blog all week.
