New Mefeedia, new blog

I installed a new blog with the upgrade of Mefeedia today. I coded for about a month to get this going. Here’s what:

• Thumbs! We now generate (or try to generate) thumbs for movies. Which means there are thumbs all throughout Mefeedia. It looks better. Thanks to Ro for help with the thumbs!
• Quoting! For some movies (Quicktime movies that we have thumbs for), you can create a quote of the movie. Move sliders to select a begin and end point, and you have created a new movie! To quote a movie, go to watch, and find a movie that has a “quote this movie” link underneath it.
• Lots of little UI changes. Search them out!
• Lots of backend changes. You won’t notice these, but the site should be much faster now.
• Better tagging. When browsing tags, you can now follow related tags, and you also have a page of only YOUR tags.
• The vlogger directory! It now is much completer, including a nice detailed view of every vlog, and thumbs throughout. I also went a step further and threw an iTunes 1-click subcribe button in for each feed.
